Varsity Thai Boxing

Last Monday was the first time Thai Boxing have ever had their own Varsity event, having sold out of tickets it was a highly anticipated event and I couldn’t wait to watch it. 

As I know the people who were fighting and knew how hard they had been training I was so excited to see them win. I’ve never watched a fight live before so it was a new experience for me, and at some points hard to watch. The atmosphere was amazing and Trent definitely gave the best support to our team chanting the Trent army song and cheering on our fighters, as usual we brought the fun atmosphere while Uni of Nottingham were barely audible. 

The final score was 7-1 to Trent, we smashed every fight against UoN and although one of our team suffered a broken and dislocated ankle, sadly losing his fight he gave such a strong performance right until the end. Go Sam!

It was such a good night and watching our team win was such a good feeling, they had all worked so hard to get to the level they were at and it was great to see all their hard work had paid off.

After the fights were over we all went out to celebrate our wins and had the best night! I’m now really looking forward to next years varsity and joining training in second year.
