Cafe Coco Tang

After hearing the buzz surrounding the opening of the new Coco Tang Cafe, I was very excited to finally get the chance to go and see what all the fuss was about. Having not even been to Coco Tang before, I didn’t quite know what to expect. 

With a Vietnamese decor and menu the cafe aims to serve traditional and fresh food giving customers a taste of cuisine from Ho Chi Minh. Hidden down a small lane in Nottingham the cafe is hard to miss if you aren’t looking for it. Upon entering there is a small cafe bar where you order your food before entering the rest of the seating areas. 

Downstairs has its own cocktail bar and seating area surrounded by tropical plants, lively and relaxing music and friendly staff. If you carry on upstairs there is more seating with an amazing painted wall and even an outside roof garden which would be lovely in the summer! 

Me and my friend had such a lovely dinner here and we couldn’t help but buy one of their amazing cocktails, it would be rude not to! I ordered the Tigerlily and it was delicious. My food was also amazing, although I had to take most of it home with me as I couldn’t finish it all. They are definitely very generous with their portions, making it great value for money. 

The whole decor and atmosphere of the cafe really made you feel like you were on holiday, I kept forgetting that I was still in Nottingham. I would definitely recommend the cafe if you’re looking to escape reality for a few hours!

After dinner we went downstairs to the original Coco Tang bar, which I had also never been to. Downstairs was just as amazing as the cafe, with another two amazing cocktail bars, great lighting and unique decor. When we left the bar we noticed that we had walked past the entrance earlier on as it is hidden in plain sight, just an old door on the street, making it even more exciting! 

I’m so happy that I finally visited and am already excited about going back soon!
