Going to New York really was a dream come true for me, it has always been a city I have wanted to visit and explore. Having never been to America before either I was excited to see how different their culture and lifestyle really was. Everything about New York inspired me. There was a real feeling of possibility and success in the air, which has really energised me to work harder in all aspects of my life. as I was so excited to go, I made sure to make a list of everything I wanted to do while I was there, so I didn't miss anything important.

On the first day of the trip me and some others from the course were taken to the Fashion Institute of Technology to learn all about perfume from Virginia Bonfiglio, a legend in the fragrance industry. We were taken into a fragrance lab in the building which was amazing and were told all about how certain fragrances are made and which notes, and ingredients go into the main scent groups. We were also told about Michael Edward's fragrance wheel which groups up all the different scents. The talk was so interesting and will really help me with the perfume brief.

After the talk me and my friends went and got some food in Madison Square Park and saw the flat iron building. Just walking round snowy New York was really inspiring and surreal. I took a few photos of street art that we walked past, New York is full of it!

After having a break, we headed off to Brooklyn Bridge for the sunset. I really liked the feel of Brooklyn, everything seemed a bit slower and relaxed. The bridge was incredible and being there looking over the river at the skyline and statue of Liberty as the sunset was something I will always remember, it was the highlight of the trip for me.
