Dare To Wear Red

Red has been seen all over the catwalks for this Autumn Winter, from Fendi, Gucci, Balenciaga and Valentino, Red has been the focus this season. On the high street it is also apparent, with red popping up in the likes of Topshop, River Island and Marks and Spencer’s. Red this season has been presented as the statement of the outfit, often seen in bright knee length coats or statement handbags and boots, red is unavoidable to stay on trend this season.

To me the shows that really stood out for this trend were Fendi and Max Mara. Both fashion houses made red the centre of their collections featuring head to toe red looks really cementing the trend. At Max Mara the red looks opened the show setting the colour palette for this season. Although head to toe red is not wearable for everyday fashion, red jumpers and coats have been seen all over the high-street, making the trend more wearable for consumers.

I have always had an obsession with boots and at Fendi they were the main focus, with all models wearing patent long red boots, adding red to every outfit. I really liked the shape of the boots and think that they really made a statement in the show, as your eyes were drawn to the boldness of the boots.

On the high-street once again the red boot trend is present, shopping around Nottingham it is easy to see them in stores and once again they have been made more wearable as ankle boots rather than over the knee, allowing more people to enjoy the trend. A statement shoe or bag is also a easier way for people scared of wearing the trend to feel more comfortable while still keeping up with fashion.
